Some Responsibilities as Assistant Controller:
Provide oversight for month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger maintenance, and third-party accounting.
Lead quarter-end close and financial statement preparation according to NCREIF and GAAP standards.
Conduct investment vehicle cash analysis.
Approve payables/expenditure workflow through NEXUS, Paymode-X/Kyriba, and MRI systems.
Respond to internal and external inquiries.
Consolidate and reconcile investment accounts for various funds, separate accounts, joint ventures, and co-investments.
Oversee monthly report preparation for investment vehicles.
Coordinate quarterly investor reporting packages and REIT maintenance tasks.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting
5+ years of accounting experience in real estate, private equity, or financial services
Familiarity with partnership/fund accounting concepts is essential.
Ability to assess and apply accounting standards to significant transactions.
Excellent interpersonal skills and capacity to foster a positive team environment.
Highly organized, flexible, and diligent in follow-up tasks.
Preferred experience with MRI and Juniper Square.
