Robert Half Staff Accountant in Macclenny, Florida

Description We are offering a Staff Accountant role based in Macclenny, Florida. This opportunity is ideal for someone with the ability to maintain and prepare financial records, tracking the organization's assets, liabilities, tax liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. This is a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct general ledger accounting and other related duties for the organization

• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements

• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts

• Close monthly books and reconcile bank accounts daily

• Address inquiries from banks and verify deposits

• Manage accounts receivable collections and reconcile various financial accounts

• Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable

• Ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts

• Assist outside auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual audit

• File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies

• Coordinate with software vendor to maintain and enhance the accounting software system. Requirements • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must.

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries is required.

• Ability to perform Month End Close activities efficiently.

• Familiarity with software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP is necessary.

• Skilled in Account Reconciliation, Credit Card Reconciliation, Cash Reconciliations, and Bank Account Reconciliation.

• Experience with MEDITECH software would be an advantage.

• Proficiency in Financial Reconciliation and Financial Reporting is required.

• Candidate must have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
