Robert Half Assistant Controller in Christiana, Tennessee

Description

We are seeking an Assistant Controller for a great client south of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This role is integral to the finance department, supporting the preparation of financial statements that comply with regulatory and accounting guidelines. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller, aiding in the establishment of effective control systems and assisting in the resolution of discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in a timely manner

• Participate in all aspects of accounting operations, including daily cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations

• Supervise accounting staff and delegate accounting tasks appropriately

• Handle regulatory reporting, including sales tax, business tax, and payroll tax, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations

• Analyze and prepare reconciliation of general ledger accounts

• Collaborate with independent auditors to provide necessary information for the audit of financial statements

• Assist in documenting and monitoring internal controls in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Support the Controller in the preparation of budgets and forecasts

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Proficiency in ERP Solutions

• Experience with Accounting Functions

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Auditing procedures

• Understanding of Budget Processes

• Experience with Cost and ERP system implementations

• Knowledge of GAAP Accounting.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in ERP Solutions is required

• Must be capable of performing Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is necessary

• Should have knowledge and experience in Auditing

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is important

• Experience in Job Cost and/or Standard Cost is a plus

• Proficiency in ERP systems software is required

• Must have a strong understanding of GAAP Accounting principles

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA certification is a plus but not a requirement

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
